The Institute can collaborate with Universities, Institutes, research laboratories, observatories, Natural Parks, governmental institutions, associations for the protection of the night environment or the night sky, any other private or public agencies, both national or foreign, international organisms, media, professional schools, associations of category, private companies, etc. The Institute can receive as guest researchers and technicians of other institutes willing to carry on their research at the Institute, included graduate students carrying on their thesis at the Institute.
The Light Pollution Science and Technology Institute (ISTIL- Istituto di Scienza e Tecnologia dell'Inquinamento Luminoso) is a no-profit Italian organization with the aim of developing and promoting the scientific research on light pollution, and developing and spreading technologies and methods to limit light pollution and its adverse effects on the night environment. The Institute is supported by the contributions of public and private organizations, donations, liberalities, etc.
